Il Mercato is a restaurant at Gemeenteplein 7, 8300 Knokke-Heist, in Knokke le Zoute, and it is one of the places I mention when a guest asks me where to eat in town. I keep my recommendations short and honest, so I tell you only what I know and am happy to stand behind.
What I would point out first is the wood-fired oven. A kitchen built around a wood-fired oven works with real fire, and that gives its cooking a character of its own. If you enjoy food prepared this way, I think it is reason enough to pay Il Mercato a visit during your stay.
A few practical words. The address is easy to give to a driver or to enter into your phone. A table cannot be reserved through this page, so I suggest you plan your visit with that in mind. I have left out opening hours and prices on purpose, because I would rather say nothing than give you a detail that may have changed. The restaurant itself is the best source for those. What I can tell you with confidence is where to find it and what makes it worth the walk or the short drive from your holiday home.
