Le Kaïla is a five-star hotel in Méribel, and I particularly like that it keeps several restaurants and bars under one roof. The food concept was created by the Michelin-starred chef Laurent Azoulay. His starred restaurant, L'Ekrin, blends the cuisines of Provence and Savoie: the chef grew up with Provençal home cooking and has adopted Savoie as his region. A generous breakfast buffet is served in the morning.
For a more casual table, I suggest Brasserie Le 80, at the foot of the slopes. You may have lunch there before skiing, or dinner in a lively atmosphere. Le 80 offers reinvented classics, friendly après-ski and festive evenings. Bar du Kaïla is set around a large fireplace in a chic yet relaxed decor, where the head bartender creates original made-to-measure cocktails and offers a selection of exceptional spirits. It suits every moment, from lunch and tea-time after skiing to an evening aperitif.
After dinner, I would send you to the Kuba Lounge, a cosy cigar room with patinated leather seating. The barmen recommend spirits or digestifs to go with the cigar selection. If you prefer to stay in, room service brings the chef's creations to your room for breakfast, lunch or a romantic dinner with mountain views. In the centre of the resort, La Chaudanne combines an elegant bar lounge with an English pub feel, open from the first morning coffee through après-ski and into the evening.
