Conditions for service providers

Article 1 – Scope

1.1 These conditions apply to everyone who performs services through the #JAMES app for guests, owners or other requesters ("service provider" or "servicer"): housekeeping, private chef, chauffeur and all other services.

1.2 By claiming or accepting a service in the app, the service provider accepts these conditions.

Article 2 – Claiming a service

2.1 Services are offered in the app. The service provider who claims a service and is assigned to it performs it.

2.2 A claim on the day of the service itself counts as a last-minute claim. For a claim made after the service has already started, #JAMES, the manager or the butler of the property must first approve the claim.

2.3 With a last-minute claim, the service provider can report straight away that they are leaving ("I claim · I'm leaving now").

Article 3 – Confirming and being on time

3.1 The day before the service, the service provider confirms the agreed time in the app, or asks for a different time. A different time only applies after confirmation by #JAMES, the butler or the requester.

3.2 On the day itself, the service provider confirms that they are on time, or reports a delay with a new time.

3.3 With a last-minute claim, the confirmation of the day before lapses.

Article 4 – Live location

4.1 During a job through #JAMES, the service provider shares their live location. This is a condition for working and earning through #JAMES.

4.2 The location is only used during the working hours of the job: from the confirmation that they are on time or leaving, until the end of the job. After that, sharing stops automatically and the location is not stored.

4.3 The requester and the butler see the location to know when the service provider will arrive.

4.4 If the service provider turns off their location during a job, the job continues, but #JAMES and the butler are notified and the app asks to turn the location back on.

Article 5 – Starting and ending

5.1 The service provider starts the job in the app at the location of the service, with a proof photo when the app asks for one.

5.2 The manager or the butler of the property and #JAMES can start or end a job on behalf of the service provider (for example if they do not have their phone with them). The hours remain those of the service provider; the app shows who pressed the button.

5.3 Extra tasks requested during the job are completed or declined by the service provider in the app before they end the job.

5.4 When ending, the service provider enters the end time. #JAMES or the butler approves the end time, if necessary after agreement of the requester.

Article 6 – Handover report

6.1 For every job, the service provider makes a handover report in the app, with photos or a video per task, and for housekeeping per room.

6.2 The requester reviews the report and accepts it, or states with a reason what is not in order. #JAMES or the butler decides; the service provider may be asked to deliver again.

Article 7 – Hours

7.1 The hours run from the start until the approved end time.

7.2 For an approved late sign-up, #JAMES or the butler decides whether the hours count from the start of the service or from the service provider's own start.

Article 8 – Cancellation and delay

8.1 A cancellation of a service is reported in the app and confirmed by #JAMES or the butler.

8.2 The service provider reports a delay as soon as possible in the app; #JAMES informs the guest, owner and requester.

Article 9 – Confidentiality

9.1 The service provider uses data of guests, owners and properties (names, addresses, access, wifi, doorbell and floor) only for the job and shares it with no one. Wifi details are never made visible.

9.2 Everything that happens in the app is kept in the history of the service and is not deleted.

Article 10 – Communication

10.1 #JAMES communicates through the app (push notifications) and, where necessary, through WhatsApp or text message, in the language of the service provider.

Article 11 – Changes

11.1 #JAMES may change these conditions. The applicable version is at bnbbutler.be/conditions-service-provider.
